Teneo Linguistics Company Provides Over 5,000 Meals to Those in Need

Here at Teneo Linguistics Company (TLC), we take giving seriously. When we met as a team to choose our 2018 charitable recipient, we did a lot of research on local and international organizations.

Together, we chose Tarrant Area Food Bank as our recipient because TLC wanted to make an immediate and significant impact on our local community. Through fundraising efforts, volunteering, and employee and company contributions. TLC exceeded expectations.

About the Organization

Tarrant Area Food Bank’s (TAFB) mission is, “Empowering communities to eliminate hunger by providing food, education and resources through innovation and collaboration.” This is a mission TLC could get behind.

They provide food, nutrition education, culinary job training, and mobile food pantries to thousands of people in need through church food pantries, senior citizen centers, emergency shelters, soup kitchens, low-income childcare centers, and other facilities in 13 counties in the Tarrant area.

Since TLC’s home office is in Fort Worth, Texas (Tarrant County), TAFB was the perfect organization to choose to immediately help the community around us. They help thousands of people and save tens of millions of pounds of food-surplus from going to waste. 

Food Drives Galore

We went all out this holiday season to help TAFB. We set up a Virtual Food Drive where people could make donations online, and we set up an in-office food drive.

Every $1 donated to TAFB equals 5 meals to those in need.

With this in mind, we made our Virtual Food Drive donation goal $300 to provide 1,500 meals. TLC started executing social media & email campaigns to encourage donations to this great organization.

We were absolutely astonished with the generosity people showed during the campaign. After about a month of emailing and posting on our Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn accounts – we surpassed our goal!

Total donations equaled $485 which provides 2,425 meals! WOW!

We did not stop there, however. TLC was determined to do more.

Volunteering Time

On top of our food drives, we also decided to donate our time to TAFB. They have many volunteer opportunities for individuals and groups to choose from. We chose to take time out of our work day to volunteer at the Community Crossroads Outreach Center.

This community center provides groceries, sack lunches, infant formula & diapers, dental services, worship services, education, and many other much needed programs to those most in need in our community.

It was awe-inspiring to experience first-hand the important work they do, and TLC will continue to volunteer our time through TAFB in 2019.

Fundraisers, food drives, volunteering time… what more can we give?

Our charitable spirit does not stop there. Many of our employees at TLC have chosen to donate part of their paychecks to TAFB every pay period to continually help our community. Not only that, but TLC matches employee contributions 100%!

Together, our Virtual Food Drive donations & TLC’s contributions for 2018 will provide OVER 5,000 MEALS to our community!

What an amazing feat to achieve for a language services company in Fort Worth, Texas. We are so grateful to Tarrant Area Food Bank, our employees here at TLC, everyone that donated to our Virtual Food Drive & in-office food drive, and to all those that give their time to help others around them.
